More Ramblings

Well, I must admit, my merry heart has been anyhting but idle lately. Really I have just been too busy to ramble. Let's see...what to blog? Well Christmas is coming early at our house. The furniture has been placed in an optimal position for the Christmas forrest to return toour home again. I think we are well beyong a tree for every room now. The neighbors have to wear sunglasses at night. Our electric meter will soon be spiraling out of control and we will be so content surrounded by the sights, sounds and smells of Christmas. It is such a wonderful season. At Church, we will be practicing our Christmas program week after next (assuming I finish writing it). Augh!!! The weather here has turned cold and it is just so time to deck the halls. Yes, we start early. I have nearly always been started before Halloween. I have done the traditional day after Thanksgiving thing. I don't really like that. Besides I have to work. Tomorrow, I may just pull some of the near 30 boxes down and see what they contain.
We have collected an ornament from almost every place we have been, with the exception of Canada. They don't have many shops that carry that merchandise year round. It is hard to get that in April. Go figure. Is everyone not as crazy for Christmas? I know the Horne house is.
Well, I must be getting off here. I have rambled long enough. I may go pull out some boxes on this rainy day.

I am so glad that you reminded me! I had forgotten that I promised to paint you a Christmas ornament since you couldn't get one while you were in Canada. I'll get right on that as soon as Minister's convention is over with. You are going to be there RIGHT? ~giggle~

Well, right now our budget is stretched and so is my available vacation at work. Unless the Lord directs otherwise and we are praying, we have not committed to being there as of yet. That was such a politician answer. We would be glad to cover the postage and whatever else you may need for the ornament.

You will NOT be paying postage or anything else for the ornament that I volunteered to paint for you guys!

I do hope that you know that I was just razzing you about being at convention, although we would love for you to be there. ~smile~

I had no idea there were so many Christmas freaks out there. I'm beginning to wonder if I'm the only person left who knows how to save the holiday for it's proper time, thus increasing it's fun and festivities... You've already arranged your house to make room for your Christmas decor. It was OCTOBER when you wrote that!!! THAT'S JUST WRONG, JASON!!!!! Don't you know that you're running right past one terrific season only to minimize the excitement of the next?! Christmas is so much better if you save it for it's proper time! Besides that, you miss out on this wonderful fall season and all of the Thanksgiving type things to enjoy! I'm wasting my breath, I can tell. I've been through all of this with my own husband and he just stares at me and bats his eyes like he's trying to comprehend an in depth and lengthy lecture on advanced calculus. Three weeks from today I will be busy in the kitchen, working on a savory Thanksgiving dinner; James will be hauling in untold boxes from the shed and making sure the Christmas music is in the CD player and ready to go... As soon as he takes his last bite of pie (before he even swallows it, if he follows last years' pattern), he'll be wripping down all of the fall decor and splattering the house with Christmas. If I take time to do the dishes I'll miss out on the whole thing. It's not very nice of people like you to be so stinkin' antsy. There are those of us (I don't THINK I'm alone...) who LOVE CHRISTMAS!!! Truly love it! At CHRISTMAS TIME!!!! So please, if you're going to be all freaky and go bazerk at your house, don't tell me about it. And whatever you do, don't post pictures!!! Have a heart, man! Let me enjoy Thanksgiving for a few weeks, okay?! It's just 3 short little weeks--you can do that for me, can't you?! SURE!!! I know you can do it! ;-)

I'm with Becki! Even though we don't celebrate Thanksgiving in November, up here, I don't want to rush Christmas. I did last year and by the time Christmas actually arrived, I was sick of it. No more! I went into Walmart yesterday and they've already started putting out all of their Christmas stuff...I expect that at Hobby Lobby, NOT Walmart! UGH! If you want to buy any of the cute stuff, you have to buy it NOW because if you wait until December, it is GONE! What is a girl to do?

Contain your zeal, make your purchases, and promptly stuff everything in a box or bag and shove it in the back of a closet or under a bed somewhere to await the PROPER time. :-)

Wow! Either the x-ray department is keeping you really busy, or you've been attacked by all of your Christmas decorations. Should we send out an APB for you?

Your "ramblings" have rumbled to a complete halt. What's up?

About Me

My photo
In 2003, my wife Tabithia and I left our city home and embarked on an unexpected journey. Both of us have fulltime jobs outside of the home. When the work day is over we return home and begin working again. We have around 100 animals here. Many of which are owner surrendered or rescued. This 4 +/- acres of land that we call Fair Haven Farms is a little piece of heaven. Not everything is always grand, but we endure the negative and celebrate the highlights of our furred and feathered friends. The farm is available for travel. We participate in many educational programs. FHF also opens the barn doors for birthday parties and other events. Feel free to visit our Fair Haven Farm facebook page. We hope to see you soon. Until then may every day be FARMTASTIC!
