I sprang from my bed to see what was the matter...

Yes, away to the kitchen I flew like a flash. Friday morning about 4:45 am, the dead of the night was interrupted by the horrible screaching sirens of my burglar alarm. I know that the only way to set that off is for something to be open. If someone opens something at that hour with you home, the results are not usually good. So I jump up in the bed, spring down the hall. My first instint is to make noise so that it sounds as if there are more than one. So I holler and clap my hands really loud. In retrospect that may not have been the wisest thing to do. Here is me running down the hall ready to go hand to hand with an unknown assailant.
This is a very exciting story, isn't it? You are probably on the edge of your seat right now.
To be continued...
Just kidding. I get to the kitchen and the back door is open. The intruder...(play suspenseful music)...none other than the wind. It seems that the door had not been closed well. The wind blew hard from the east and pushed it open. It took me an hour to go back to sleep. It was quite alarming. More alarming than that was the fact that Tabithia grabbed the handgun from the drawer and was behind me. I guess after my hand to hand failed she was ready to shoot one of us or both. She had never even fired he thing. That could have been very interesting.
Oh, well, it does make good blog material.

wow that was too funny. lol. No that would be scary to think someone could be in your house. Hey tell Tabitha to bring one of her cds to the youth convention.

People with guns scare me. Sister Bishop has "Pistol Pete," but thankfully she forgets to take him with her on trips most of the time. But when I was at her house she assured me she had him handy. That was NO reassurance to me! It just made me nervous, when I hadn't been before!

Ha! I don't know how great it was in person, but the version that played in my head was terrific! I'm picturing Tabitha following you down the hallway, all set to start firing away...whether you're in front of her or not!

About Me

My photo
In 2003, my wife Tabithia and I left our city home and embarked on an unexpected journey. Both of us have fulltime jobs outside of the home. When the work day is over we return home and begin working again. We have around 100 animals here. Many of which are owner surrendered or rescued. This 4 +/- acres of land that we call Fair Haven Farms is a little piece of heaven. Not everything is always grand, but we endure the negative and celebrate the highlights of our furred and feathered friends. The farm is available for travel. We participate in many educational programs. FHF also opens the barn doors for birthday parties and other events. Feel free to visit our Fair Haven Farm facebook page. We hope to see you soon. Until then may every day be FARMTASTIC!
